Sixty Vocab is a memorization tool designed to get the conversation started.
Sixty Vocab is the brainchild of our Co-founder, Kevin Ramirez. Kevin needed a way to brush up on years of high school and college Spanish before his month long trip to Costa Rica, but couldn’t find one. After all, he still remembered the grammar he had learned - he just needed some vocabulary to get the conversation started. But wait, there's more![- hide our awesome story]
After reading that it only takes 2,000 words to hold a conversation, Kevin started developing a “just right” tool. The result was Sixty Vocab - a learning tool that puts vocabulary building at the center and focuses on helping students, travellers and enthusiasts finally commit a language to memory.
It turns out Kevin’s solution solved a problem many of his friends were having. So, Kevin convinced his sister, Kim, to quit her stable job and dive head first into turning his idea into a business.
We got our name, Sixty Vocab, from the fact that 2,000 words equals 60% of a language.
Serial e-commerce entrepreneur and Sixty Vocab’s creator.
